(RabidReads.com)The Hidden Wings series by Cameo Renae is a favorite young adult series of mine. It’s about angels and one girl who is about to become a powerful one. Angels may not be as big a thing in books as they once were, but I highly recommend Hidden Wings. When the author decided to write a spinoff series, I was so in to read it! Just so you know, these books were international bestsellers for young adults and took place in Alaska.

Guarding Eden features a different girl, named of course, Eden. She goes to a boarding school in Washington state and is getting ready to graduate. After seeing a monster in the woods while walking late at night, Eden thinks she is just hallucinating-until it speaks to her and threatens her. She is saved(of course)and is understandably shook up. Meanwhile, Alex, a warrior angel has been sent from Midway(where the angels live before being sent out to help people)to protect Eden-and to figure out why the monster-otherwise known as a Darkling-showed itself to Eden. Because once seen, the Darkling will not stop until he kills the one that has seen him. The question for Alex is, did it want to be seen before it killed her or was it a mistake? So even though they are only a few weeks from graduation, he comes to the school as a student.

You can always count on this author to have good characters, ones that you immediately care about and root for, and this book was no exception. Eden is feisty, smart, and totally enamored with Alex when she meets him. Alex is an amazing warrior, one that is not allowed romance with a human. Yeah, that’s so not working. He also happens to be the boy all the girls at the school want as soon as they see him. Besides these main characters, Eden’s group of best friends, Sebastian, Kimi, and Trissa, add to the plot and are well fleshed out by the author. Alex’s angel friends are also all here and were also featured in the Hidden Wings series, so it was fun catching up with all of those characters as well. They are like old friends to me now.

The other thing you can always count on this author to provide, is a book filled with action, violence, fight scenes, romance, and yes, even sometimes, death. And as always, I end up not being able to put these books down. The author can sure write a good young adult book!

On purpose, I am not going to tell anymore of the actual story, no spoilers that way. I am, however, going to highly recommend this series starter to young adults and adults(like me)that enjoy reading good YA paranormal books. I think the age should be 16 plus-maybe even 15 depending on maturity level, due to violence, some language, and yes, even a not terribly explicit sexual scene-but not a closed door one either. These characters are over 18. This can standalone away from the Hidden Wings series, but it’s not a bad idea to read those books to enhance this one-but not absolutely necessary.

Congrats Cameo Renae! You did it again!

Brilliantly written. I just love the story and all the books in the Series as well. I found myself captivated with this wonderful and magical world that Cameo Renae creates in this book.

This time, we got the opportunity to know more about one on the characters that we met previously in the Hidden Wings Series Books.

I just can't wait for her next book. Makes me wonder what surprises will be waiting for us the next time we meet again with the amazing characters on this magnificent world.
Guarding Eden is a brand new book by Cameo Renae that succeeds her beloved Hidden Wings Series and tells of the story of a young girl called Eden East, who is being hunted by the forces of Hell, that readers, new or returning, will enjoy until the end. Assisting her in this fight for survival until she awakens her true abilities, is a Guardian Angel named Alexander, assigned to Eden from Heaven to protect her from these relentless forces. Guarding Eden is a brilliant story with a memorable and endearing cast of characters, great pacing and enthralling plot, a charming romance, well-written protagonists, and a satisfying continuation for fans of Cameo Renae's previous works. Being a longtime fan of Cameo Renae and having enjoyed every work she's written, I can say without a doubt that she is the best author I know. Every book she writes is better than the last and an absolute joy to read. Guarding Eden gets a five-star rating from me. I am absolutely looking forward to the continuation of the Midway Trilogy coming later this year.
WOW! Guarding Eden is a spin off from the author's Hidden Wings" series. This book can be read as a stand alone but I would recommend reading the Hidden Wings series first, it will give you background into some of the characters in this book, plus they are amazing books. This book is an awesome read in its own right. I set down this morning and started this book, here it is 12 hours later and I just finished. I lost a whole day trapped in this book unable to put it down.The two main characters Alex and Eden are perfect and the secondary characters brings the book to life. There is some suspense, action and even a few funny moments making this a great YA PNR book! A must read!
Well, I really enjoyed this book. I looked to see if there was anymore Midway Novels but didn't find any yet. So apparently none in the fall since it is Nov 30th. I'll have to keep checking cuz I would love to read Thomas's and Dom's stories. This is pretty lighthearted even with all the battles with rhe Fallen and Darklings or Stinkys as the Angels call them. This book is about keeping Eden safe since she managed to survive a run in with a darkling. I hope in the next book of the series it is explained why the Fallen went to such lengths to go after Eden, doing things that they hadn't done before. I also hope we get to spend more time with Eden and her bond mate (no spoilers here). This world and these characters are fascinating and I look forward to being with them again in this series. I definitely recommend this book. Enjoy! 💙💛💜💚
Sigh... oh how I love this world that Cameo has created! Alex, an amazing Guardian that we got the pleasure of meeting in the Hidden Wings series, is on an assignment that is going to change his world forever.
Eden is a mortal who has seen a darkling and survived, and now she is in grave danger. Enter Alex and an amazingly swoon worthy, action packed adventure that will have you flying through the pages.
We get some fun visits with old friends, and get to meet some fantastic new ones. I am truly hoping we get visits with them in future books too. These characters are freaking hilarious! And such amazing people, their friendships are inspiring and beautiful.
I can't wait for more books in this new spin off series, I didn't realize how much I needed more of this amazing world until the first sentence, and now, I'm in Grandia!
