The author takes you on a journey to fulfill her mission to recover from her addiction to “other people’s,” knowledge of God! After she finds herself believing, but not really knowing the God she was taught to serve, she sets out on a mission to know GOD! She takes you on a journey into the tent revivals of the early 70’s, the troubled water sermons, and some of the most deceitful healing services she’s ever known; how does one truly find God in the mist of being flimflammed, deceived, and traumatized?
Although she suffered through many life lessons along the journey, she finds God in the most simple, powerful, awesome place; God was within her all the time. She shares her resources so the reader can expand his or her own knowledge.

"A Fight for Freedom: An African American's Challenge" is a deeply introspective treatise of one Woman of Color's painful journey into the discovery of Truth. A compulsive truth seeker by nature, Ms. Nelson Frederick is clearly one who, even from birth, could never be satisfied with a passive, blind acceptance of the party line even had it come delivered through breast milk. This pilgrimage became exponentially more challenging as she was gradually forced to confront the plethora of lies that embodied every institution that served to make her life safely predictable... church, family, society. Despite red flags and backlash, she forged forth to the heartbreaking discovery that her faith is NOT the faith of her fathers. She had ventured upon the revelation that her father, and his fathers before him, were tube-fed a Culture of White Supremacist's Lies sanctioned within the framework of consensual Christendom. As she worked to shed the lies that had previously underpinned her very identity and with no one to guide her, at last it was a mirror into her most pure Self ~ her very soul ~ that became her new beacon. She had been blind. Once sighted, she could no longer unsee... she could not unsee the Lies that still seek even yet to destroy her people from within and without; she could not unsee that the poisoning process begins before birth, and she could not unsee that the only way to gain traction out of the White Supremacy soup in which we are forced to swim is to stop poisoning the heart, minds and souls of our children and their children. Each soul must critically look to our own mirror and take an inventory on humility. Each soul must assume the responsibility of their own awakening, however painful, and set upon the path of Truth. Such is the nature of this book, a true blessing worth sharing.
